The Last Touch
Latex gloves
2004

My mother was not a person who liked to be touched. I was taken with this thought as she lay ill and dying, administered to by others, strangers. The health care professionals always had to wear latex gloves. In our contemporary society, we have created another barrier between humans, losing the warmth of skin on skin, especially at times when the human touch is so critical. I would like to create an installation with this material.
